We had the opportunity to create the official visual and poster of the play "The Infamous Ramirez Hoffman” - a work adapted from the novel Nazi Literature in America by the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño, which contains fictional histories of imaginary Nazis. The main role of the narrator in the play is played by the great John Malkovich, who also participated in the selection of the visuals, which makes this project even more special. “The infamous Ramirez Hoffman” talks about a writer for whom aesthetics overlap with ethics and who believes that the work should be valued above any human ideal. An anonymous narrator tells us the fictional story of Ramirez Hoffman: a right-wing writer who used the 1973 Chilean coup d'état that overthrew President Salvador Allende to launch a poetry campaign involving torture and murder. We transferred that story to the visual - translating the Chilean flag and motif into direct communication of the poster itself - and that's how “The Famous John Malkovich” became “The Infamous Ramirez Hoffman”.
